Free Pattern: Trendy Purse

Purse

I’m making this purse right now, and it’s turning out darling! The pattern is very easy to follow, just remember that your turning chain does count as your first stitch. I forgot that and it began to grow outwards in a funny shape.

I’m making it in my cheapo black acrylic yarn with an I hook, and the proportion/tension is perfect. I can see this in a tan twine or straw, lined with a cute summery print. I love the size and shape, so in style right now. It makes me so happy to see that crochet is ‘in’ right now. I’d make things anyways, but it’s nice that I can actually wear and use my creations in public:)

Doggydoggy

Aww, I love this life-like chihuahua pattern. The website also has patterns for different dog sweaters to dress it (or a real dog) with. I especially like the t-shirt and jeans pattern!

Star Afghan

I've always been jealous of the knitter's version of the star afghan. It's so darn cute! But silly me didn't think that it would be even easier to make in crochet. Beth's Little Star Afghan can be adapted to any size. I've been wanting to make a scrap afghan, and I think the star shape would be neat because the colors would radiate out.

Scraps

Another great scrap afghan is Dot's Scrumptious Scraps Afghan. The black border makes any odd color combo look neat!

mitten

I don't use my Knifty Knitter nearly enough, so these one loom mittens are next on my list for next winter. I like to make projects a season or two ahead, because that way I actually can get it done in time!

banana

I’m not even going to say anything about this being yet another food pattern. Oops, I just did…. Well, I happen to like bananas, so there!

Edit: fixed link AGAIN (2008)!

Carrot

Yet again, a food pattern! This time it’s a carrot, so at least it is healthy. I must be addicted to yarny food; at least it has a lot of fiber!

Make this along with a bunny and you’ll be set for easter.

Bakewell Tart

Can you tell I like crocheted food, especially desserts? I am a big sweet tooth, and would have dessert instead of dinner any day! These cute little bakewell tarts look good enough to eat.

Free Pattern: Cabled Bangle Purse

Sunday, February 26th, 2006

I love, love, love these Bangle Bags by Margaret Nicole, but I’m not about to plunk down $200 for one.  Luckily for me, someone from crochetville designed a very cute knock-off, yay!

Purse

However, someone else made it shorter, and I really like it that way:

Lime Earrings

When life gives you limes, make earrings out of them! I haven’t tried thread crochet yet, but I’ll have to go buy some DMC floss asap. I see myself using yellow floss, and crocheting a strawberry. Then I could make strawberry lemonade. Yum!

Free Pattern: Cupcake Gift Box

cupcake gift box

I actually don’t really enjoy cupcakes. I know, that’s insane, but the only frosting I like is cream cheese frosting, and they rarely put that on cupcakes. But I do think they are unbearably cute! I love this idea to use a yogurt cup to make a cupcake-shaped gift box! You could make it, and then put some of the mini cupcake ornaments inside.

That might be cupcake overload….
